Materials which conduct electricity are called conductors, while materials which restrict the transfer or electricity are called insulators.
Semiconductors are materials that have a conductivity between these two materials and have a property which allow them to change the conductivity of the material at different temperatures and in different electrical conditions. This is why such material is called a semiconductor because it “semi”-conducts electricity.
Usually, the word “semiconductor” in a broad sense refers to a semiconductor integrated circuit.

The number of semiconductors used in smartphones and tablets has been increasing.
Also, the demand for semiconductors is expected to continuously increase with the fourth industrial revolution
called IoT (Internet of Things) which enables the network of physical objects.
Moreover, the field of MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems; see:
as well as the life science field which apply MEMS are also expected to grow.

And it is especially notable that our sales have been soaring with the increasing number of orders
we receive from overseas semiconductor manufactures.
The number of customers has been increasing year by year.
